HISTORY

The Music Therapy Trust was created by Dr. Margaret Lobo SRAsT(M), FRSA, who is the Founder and Director of the Otakar Kraus Music Trust, a UK registered charity which has been providing music therapy to children and adults with special needs in the UK for over 20 years.

In 2004 Margaret Lobo was invited by Merry Baura of Action For Autism to give talks on music therapy in New Delhi and Mumbai, which led to press and television exposure and resulted in an overwhelming demand for music therapy to be made available in India.

Margaret used her expertise to set up the Music Therapy Trust which achieved its official recognition as a registered charity in India in 2005. The Music Therapy Trust has now introduced the first clinical music therapy network to India to support the well-being of disadvantaged people, and has established music therapy as a recognised clinical profession.
